Meeting
Local Jungle - Current
Gist
Kickoff working session with Local Jungle (Gavin Taylor and Natalie Gregorian) to map out their current auto-repair-shop website build process and identify where Chris can help compress the onboarding-to-launch timeline from roughly two months down to two weeks. Walked through their ClickUp workflow (onboarding, technical onboarding, web design/dev phases, QA, launch) and found that back-and-forth QA is the biggest time sink, with one site sitting at 50 days and 60+ dev hours. Chris recommended pulling repeatable elements (address/hours formatting) into a settings panel and adopting Marker.io for QA ticketing, and they scheduled recurring Tuesday 9:30am sessions plus a follow-up call the next morning to dig into specifics and templating.

What came out of it
Decisions4
- Chris will send his standard simple contract/NDA to be used as the appendix for the scope of work instead of Natalie drafting a separate one
- Standing weekly meeting set for Tuesdays at 9:30am, starting with the 16th at 10am then moving to the 24th at 9:30am
- Follow-up call scheduled for 9:45-10:15am the next morning to dig into process details
- Gavin will send Chris the full backup/restore folder (WP content, not uploads) instead of a GitHub repo
Risks and blockers4
- QA back-and-forth has caused one site to take 50 days and over 60 development hours, causing the agency to lose money on it
- Junior developer attempt at a templated launch previously went badly, breaking things thought to be templatized
- Page speed and SEO must be preserved since Local Jungle's revenue model depends on improving local rankings versus the client's prior agency
- Developer accidentally noindexed pages to boost PageSpeed score, which will need correcting
Open questions3
- Should the monthly engagement be 4, 8, 12, or 16 hours, and how will that be decided with Craig and Natalie?
- How will Chris's work be coordinated with the other consultant being brought on for operations/process?
- Is the site's address/hours formatting custom-coded or configurable, and can it be moved into a settings panel?
