CMILC - Lumberock Weekly Sync

Jun 29 · 8:00 AM
Gist

Weekly Lumberock website refresh sync with Erin Dyer and Matt Nelson (Dawn out for a family funeral). Erin walked through the Dropbox content library structure (word docs plus JSON per page/block) and progress on sourcing and revamping authentic Lumberock photos rather than AI-generated images, organized by board type. Chris reviewed sample-ordering UX on competitor sites and found most use a clunky ecommerce-style cart checkout, concluding Lumberock's current flow is already better than most and just needs a visual revamp rather than a rebuild. Agreed Erin will redo content on main collection pages (Veranda, Porch, Classic, Genesis) that were left unchanged, and will notify Chris by email when Dropbox folders are updated so he can sync his local copy.

What came out of it
Decisions2
  • Erin will do a new content pass on the main collection pages (Veranda, Porch, Classic, Genesis) to match the rest of the site's updated content and structure
  • Chris concluded the sample-ordering experience should be a revamped version of the current flow rather than an ecommerce-cart-style checkout
Risks and blockers2
  • Coastal board images have fewer authentic Lumberock photos available, so some will be less authentic than others
  • AI-generated block layout mapping tends to produce a poor mishmash of blocks that requires manual tweaking
Open questions1
  • Which folders in the Dropbox are newly added and need to be pulled into Chris's local copy?
Next steps4
  • VendorContinue filling out and categorizing the image library (coastal, veranda, porch, etc.) over the next two to three days
  • VendorRedo content pass on main collection pages left unchanged (Veranda, Porch, Classic, Genesis)
  • VendorEmail Chris when Dropbox content updates are complete and flag which folders are new
  • MeReview and roll out the AI-generated page content in small batches (5-6 pages) before pushing the bulk update
A record of what was agreed, not a task list — nothing here was scheduled.
