Meeting

Erin Dyer - Current

May 11 · 6:25 AM
Gist

Chris and Dawn walked Erin Dyer and Matt through the latest homepage and collections page designs for the Lumberock site, including a new contractor-focused resources tab idea and a swappable texture/color system for different product verticals (coastal, mountain, etc.). They agreed the new collection page direction feels more consumer-friendly and emotionally engaging than competitor decking pages, and discussed adding a sample-request CTA and future real customer testimonial photos. Matt raised wanting to reuse this same design approach for the upcoming CMI sheet pile site.

What came out of it
Decisions3
  • Agreed to add a contractors resources tab at the top of the site rather than heavily featuring contractors on the homepage
  • Locked down the general homepage design direction with recent shortening tweaks
  • Approved the collection page layout concept using swappable textures/colors per product line
Risks and blockers2
  • Real customer testimonial photos are not yet available, so story sections will rely on placeholder-style content for now
  • Some imagery may be AI-generated rather than final product photography
Open questions2
  • Where exactly will the sample-request CTA be placed on the homepage
  • Whether the same design template can be efficiently adapted for the CMI sheet pile site
Next steps4
  • MeAdd a thin orange call-to-action for requesting samples between homepage sections
  • ClientAaron to finalize actual copy/text for the homepage and collection pages
  • MeDesign real customer story/testimonial sections once photos are available
  • MeConsider adapting the Lumberock design format for the future CMI sheet pile site
A record of what was agreed, not a task list — nothing here was scheduled.
