Meeting
CMILC - Current
Gist
Worked through how to organize Lumberock's product collections (Coastal, Genesis, Classic, Historic/Veranda) into homepage and collection page structure, debating whether to group by region or by customer type. Landed on framing pages around four customer 'buckets' rather than product lines or regions, with Genesis and Classic sharing a backyard/homeowner bucket that needs a side-by-side comparison feature. Chris walked through the coastal collection page template (storytelling blocks, color swatch imagery, CTAs) which the team liked. Erin and Matt will spend the week defining the four bucket names/messaging and reconvene next Monday, with design work paused until then.

What came out of it
Decisions4
- Homepage and collection page structure/aesthetic approved as-is, pending content changes
- Site will organize around four customer 'bucket' types rather than product line names or regions
- Genesis and Classic will share one bucket page with a two-column comparison feature instead of separate duplicated sections
- Design work will pause for the coming week until bucket names and messaging are finalized
Risks and blockers3
- AI-generated swatch images show inconsistent coloration around edges/house textures across variations
- Shift to customer-type framing is a departure from current branding approach and needs alignment with Matt before finalizing
- Need actual photographed board swatches/textures rather than relying on AI-generated imagery
Open questions2
- What should the four customer bucket names/labels actually be?
- How should colors be pared down or presented (e.g. 'more available upon request') given some are rarely ordered?
Next steps5
- ClientDefine the four bucket names and messaging framework and bring back next Monday
- ClientLoop in additional team member to align on the branding shift
- ClientProvide zoomed-in, well-lit photos of boards in various colors/textures for swatch imagery
- MeHold off on new design work until bucket definitions are finalized
- MeTidy up remaining layout pieces while waiting on client content decisions
A record of what was agreed, not a task list — nothing here was scheduled.
