Edward Addo - F2F
First technical conversation between Chris LaFay and Edward Addo (formerly employed by Chris via Lean Labs) to evaluate Edward as a WordPress developer, despite Edward's background being primarily in HubSpot/Hubble over the past four to five years. Chris walked through WordPress/Gutenberg concepts (blocks, patterns, custom post types, ACF, taxonomies) using an existing site and the upcoming Lumberock rebuild as examples, and Edward mapped each concept to its HubSpot equivalent, concluding the systems are conceptually very similar. They agreed to move forward: Edward's hourly rate is $35, Chris will get him a WordPress local environment and starter theme, and onboarding/training hours will happen over the next few weeks before the Lumberock project (which won't start development for at least four weeks) kicks off.
- Edward's hourly rate set at $35/hour
- Edward will be onboarded with a WordPress local environment and Chris's starter theme before the Lumberock project begins
- Lumberock rebuild will use Chris's custom WordPress starter theme rather than extending the client's existing page-builder theme
- Edward has not worked in WordPress in about five years and will need ramp-up time to relearn it
- Timeline uncertainty since Lumberock hasn't entered the design phase yet
- Exact schedule/number of hours for Edward's pre-project setup and training block
- Final agreed price once the number of custom blocks for Lumberock is known
- MeSend Edward a copy of the WordPress starter theme and help him set up a local WordPress environment
- MeAdd Edward on Slack for ongoing communication
- MeShare the meeting recording/note-taker link with Edward
- MeWalk Edward through the Figma file and building blocks once Lumberock design phase begins
- MeSet up a time schedule in the next two to three weeks for Edward's onboarding work
