SEB <> CCC Sync Call

Classic City Consulting synced with the State Election Board team (Hope Coan and colleagues) on their website rebuild. Chris confirmed most of their 25-30 submitted tickets are straightforward and outlined the four remaining items needed to start the ~week-and-a-half build: remaining blog posts, additional image IDs, the FOIA/open records form URL, the complaints form URL, and the Mailchimp signup embed/link. Target is to have the site ready ahead of the board's August 19 meeting, with the next scheduled sync on July 28 (next week's meeting likely to be cancelled if no blocking questions arise). Hosting/domain cutover is still being worked out with Joel and may involve a temporary coming-soon page due to IT ticket delays.

What came out of it
Decisions3
  • Team will collect all remaining content (blog posts, images, FOIA link, complaints link, Mailchimp link) in one batch before starting the build rather than piecemeal.
  • Election calendar link will be added to the nav bar pointing to the Secretary of State's site.
  • Next week's meeting may be cancelled if no blocking questions come up, with July 28 as the next confirmed sync.
Risks and blockers3
  • Domain/hosting record update depends on an external IT ticketing process that can take days to a week, possibly requiring a temporary coming-soon page.
  • One requested image turned out to be a Lithuanian bank logo, caught before use.
  • Board wants the site presentable at the August 19 board meeting, adding schedule pressure.
Open questions2
  • Which Mailchimp form format (hosted link vs. embed) will the State Election Board provide?
  • Will there be one or two separate ticket/form links needed for FOIA (open records) versus complaints (CMIT/Victor)?
