PRX Engage (TrialPort) - Website rebuild sales call
Sales call with Charlie Myrick (CTO of TrialPort, formerly PRX Engage) about rebuilding their WordPress site currently run by an underperforming dev team. Chris scoped it as a ~$15,000, 30-45 day rebuild that keeps existing content and gradient/color aesthetic but tightens the style guide and consistency, migrates blog content via an AI scraping tool, and builds reusable synced blocks for their custom JavaScript clinical-trials widget and matching header/footer between the app and marketing site. They also discussed AI/Claude-code integration with WordPress via application passwords and WP Engine staging, and Chris agreed to send a proposal, scope of work, and sample sites, plus loop in his maintenance partner Mickey for ongoing plugin/content support.
- Project scoped at the $15,000 tier since existing content and pages will be migrated rather than redesigned from scratch
- Site will be hosted on WP Engine with owner-level access given to Classic City
- Existing blog content will be migrated using an AI scraping tool rather than rebuilt manually
- Charlie will hold off on having the branding/marketing firm build a Figma mockup since Classic City will build directly in code
- Header pill menu and footer will be redesigned by Classic City and matched across both the marketing site and the app
- The clinical-trials widget will be implemented as a reusable, syncable WordPress block where a widget ID can be pasted in
- Current site suffers from inconsistent styling (fonts, spacing, shadows) due to prior dev team's limited WordPress expertise
- Domain migration previously wiped the entire WordPress environment and user accounts, raising concern about vendor reliability
- Chris will be out of town for about two weeks in June, which may extend the 30-45 day timeline
- Uncertainty remains about whether existing blog posts were built with page-builder markup, which could complicate migration
- Whether the branding/marketing company Keith found already has a style guide or will conflict with Classic City's work
- Whether TrialPort's existing blog posts were built using page-builder blocks or plain text/HTML
- Final pricing for the maintenance retainer with Chris's partner Mickey
- MeSend Charlie a proposal with pricing and defined scope of work via email
- MeSend sample/example B2B websites with a similar clean aesthetic
- MeGet exact maintenance retainer pricing from Mickey and pass it to Charlie
- ClientCheck TrialPort's WordPress blog editor to see if posts are built with page-builder blocks or plain text
- ClientSend Classic City examples of sites TrialPort likes and dislikes
- ClientSend over current site content saved in Google Drive
- ClientTalk to the branding/marketing company Keith found and report back on their plans
