Consume Media - Current

So I know Chris is probably wanting to get to the airport for his flight tomorrow at this point. Or is it tonight or tomorrow? It is actually tonight, but it's already been as all evening flights. It has already been delayed so slightly. So that's not a, it's not a bad thing though. It's not bad because that means it just gives us an extra, you know, 15 minutes. So I'm just waiting. Maybe that'll be enough. Maybe the, the mega thread on Reddit. Everybody is saying that things feel like they're getting back to normal as the mega thread on Reddit. We'll. We'll see. It's fine. I have three projects that I really want to make sure that we have some clarity and direction for where Samson's jumping in and where, where, where Chris is stopping and where Samson's coming in. So actually it's just the two because Aries is on Andrew. Okay, so we're going to start with Consume Media for Consume Samson. I put in a lot of QA notes yesterday. I think Chris went in and handled the rest of them. I have development cleanup, import blogs on your plate. Is that something that you are able to take across the finish line or do you have everything or do you need anything for those? Oh, yes. So for cons, that's for Consume, right? Yeah. So blog posts have been imported. That is done. Right. So I. Checking that one off. I didn't, I didn't see that one on the list. I'm sorry about that. I missed that one. Dev cleanup should pretty much be done because that's pretty much what the QA Tickets Don, that you sent in yesterday were basically a mix of page creation and weird stuff that you saw. The subtasks for those and you can tell me if those are done. So I have ensure all code is in the repo. Okay. Block library pages built out with descriptions of each block. Yes. All recordings have been stored in the back end of the website. No. No. So I. Yeah, I want to make sure that all the blocks I wanted to. I have a couple of the. So pausing. Yep. I recorded a. A couple of the page builds that I did. I recorded the full page build process. So they have long form videos to showcase like thinking of how blocks interact with each other. So even if some of the styles might not be 100 correct, those are there. They're in Asana and one of the tasks. I don't remember which one. They're also I dropped them in the internal Slack channel as well too. And so those need to be. Are those client facing videos? Yes, absolutely are. Okay, so can those get added to the site? Do you have the plugin for the tutorials added on the site? They should. It should be on there already. I'm pretty sure it is. So Samson, if you want to grab those videos and get them loaded into the back end, that'd be great. These are drop. These are in the. I'll drop them into that task. But I believe this is for the. Provides page structure for five content pages is where this ended up living that. That feels right. Okay, so I'm gonna add all recordings right in the back end of the website. Samson, these are the videos we have thus far. I don't have one for the homepage. You're gonna do that one. Samson, you're muted. Oh, you're muted by the way. We should probably just record a video about. I would. I would recommend for that one. Just go block by block, Samson, and just state what the block is. Show where the settings were and how all those things got changed and those types of things. Just kind of walk them through each of the building blocks there. So don't worry about like reading page and recording that. Just go through the page Already built and yeah. So you might need to spend a few minutes just looking at the whole page and making sure that you understand like how the different pieces are. Because like for example, like EyeBrow text, there's two ways to do it. One is you can drop in a paragraph and then select the eyebrow style. But also attached to all headings, there's a panel on the right hand side in the settings of that heading that allow you to turn on the eyebrow and and type whatever you want to. The HTML outputs all the same, but there's just two options so that to increase flexibility. Chris, would this be more efficient for you to do the video for that one? Probably. I'm just going to assign you doing the homepage video. Mm. Now that will not get done until next week at this point. I'm using the rest of my time today to do touch ups on primo dev stuff which will also not be done today. But pausing that for a second. Okay, the video is pending for the home page about us page. I have content QA session with consume. That's going to actually happen next week. How to use the website qa. How to use the website. That's going to also be next week. We're going to have them start putting in content starting next week development. A note on this. What does my week next week look like? Actually not too bad. For you for content? We'll build all of it, then we'll pass it off to them. Yep. Okay, so import case studies is still pending at this moment because we need their stuff. So I'm bumping that out. Okay. Qa, all of this is next week products. Oh, I did add a note yesterday that didn't get assigned the mobile navigation. The drop down doesn't work. So if anything has a dropdown, it doesn't show up in the mobile navigation. So products yesterday was not showing up in mobile navigation. So there's one of two reasons for that. One is, one is either you're correct, it was not showing up or you, you hit it after I deleted the products from the drone. No. Okay, cool. I did this at the same time. I compared and contrast it three times on my phone, on my computer. It is. It is not there. It is not there. So it might be there now if products are added as a menu item, but it was not there as of when this was created, which was 434 yesterday afternoon. Wow, you have a really good memory. No, I'm looking at the task, Samson. Something I noticed on the navigation bar is there were two menus. Why were there two menus? So the two menus is because the. I want to say that the hamburger, you couldn't like, control the navigate. The navigation block has a checkbox that says like turn into a hamburger on mobile. Yeah. And I don't know if it was that you couldn't control where the break point was or if I can't remember exactly what it was. To be honest, my memory is not as good as Don's, but. So what I'd like you to do is so spend an hour on this today, go onto the dev site and delete one of the menus because now they're both the same because I deleted the sub menu under products because they have way too many and I need them to figure out what they want to constrict. So there should just be a checkbox on a menu that says collapse to a hamburger. So spend an hour on it and see if you can get it down to a. Into a hamburger. It Might also have something to do with the button being added. I guess you could just add a class to the button for that part to hide it on desktop. But the contact us button or whatever it is in the navigation, once you go to mobile, it disappears and it goes into the actual hamburger menu. But yeah, I can mess around with it and see if I can come across the reason why I did it that way. But yeah, that would be like. I'm looking at. Like I'm looking at settings right now and it says overlay Menu mobile. Yeah, 100. I saw that there was something I ran into that made me go the route of duplicating it. I'm pretty sure I did the same thing. Apex is it Apex that we did. But yeah, I ran into the same thing. So whatever it is, I can see if there's another way to do it. Okay. I just toggled it on. Also, you're probably looking at a black icon on a black navigation on a black menu bar. So just be aware of that as well too. That's probably playing into it. Oh, there's a display none property happening somewhere. So that has a lot. Yep, that has a lot to do with it. So you will have to style it on mobile. But there's. For whatever reason, there's a media query that says display none. Oh, because it's probably displaying. That's probably what it is. You probably have a display none on the desktop menu. Yeah, but I'm seeing it. I'm seeing the. It's there. So spend an hour on it. Write any CSS code and the nav bar SCSS file, get it compiled and push it up. I done. The repository is up to date. Do you know you probably don't off the top of your head. Where the. Where I could change the breakpoint for the toggle to go to mobile. I would wear specifically that. I don't know. I got a couple ideas of maybe a way I can track it down if I even have access to it. It's possible it's outside. Okay. Yeah. If you can't figure out, at least get it set up to where there's only one menu, all the settings are correct and use active CSS variables in there to apply colors. Okay, so I have two tasks that are in milestone for content, brand identity, swap colors, logo typography, and build five handcrafted pages for ASP Global. Are those your tasks or. I take that back. I apologize. I forgot about this one in particular. So the. The asp like. So the only piece that Claude still will have to do is swap all of the color schemes from Primo Purples to AS APS blues. You're right. The first time you did this on the call yesterday, it's not Atlanta Public Schools. That's as, that's aps. It's asp like Aspen, like Ask Spren. And it's medical and it's asp. That's how you're gonna remember it. That actually will help me because my brain has thought there was a programming language called ASP. ASP.net what? I me and Andrew grew up doing that and I always have throughout this process. I'm like, it's not the same thing as the coding language. Somebody. But it is. But it is. So my hope is that, in summary, is that when Primo is done and they approve all the blocks on it, they do their qa, we copy and paste it, and we don't have to do any design things. We just swap the colors and we're done. Done. Okay, cool. So next. And then things I have on for development right now, I'll read them off and you can tell me if these are things that are done or things that Samson needs to do. Set up WordPress installation and theme scaffolding. Done. Develop basic components. Nav footer buttons. Type 50, 50. Develop block library, all 12 to 15 building blocks. 50, 50. Build product. Custom post type with ACF fields. Done. Done. Building. Build. Build. Building block layouts for product pages. Those are. You can actually combine that with the. Like. This is a part of the like five page template structures. So both of those could. I don't know. There's another task in the future that is like, build out five pages, handcrafted pages. That's. That's. I can merge those two. You can merge those together? You can if you want to just delete the one that talks about products specifically. I'm just going to merge it so that we have a record of it. Oh, cool. I didn't realize that was Five crafted agency. Okay. Set up blog functionality to do. Have not done that yet. Okay. Internal dev QA and then client approves development phase. So out of all those things. So in the, in that core and one of the, the one that I said, that's a DFidia, that's like the core development, the navigation bar in the footer are the primary pieces that are not done. Everything else in terms of like paragraphs and lists and buttons and those types of things, those are all. Those are all done. So basically it is the single blog post page. From a general coding standpoint, it's a single blog post page setting up the blog post like archive view, which I have the building block done. I just have to literally plop it onto a blog post page and then header the navigation bar in the footer. Okay, sorry, we already said that. Then it's just building out basically five going through what we did with Consume, which is like build out four or five layouts of blocks. One of them will then mimic the homepage that's already been designed. And then I also created a couple of other containers. That's something that Consume was missing, was like, how do you put these blocks into containers to where they look decent? So I created a couple of containers based off the designs that Claude did. So there will be more available variation with less building blocks, if that makes sense. So, okay, so is there anything for the basic components to pass off to Samson or are you going to finish that up? Honestly, I'm probably. I'm gonna. My goal, like when we hang up here, my goal is to get both of those things done so that next week or this week while I'm gone, I can build out a couple of page templates all locally. And then when all goes up to WP engine, it is ready for you to qa. Okay, so are you. And you're building it with what content? Just dummy content for now. I'm gonna build it with dummy content with dummy headers because they haven't really given us any content to work from yet. Do I need to bother them? I mean, we don't know what content's going to go on these pages anyway, do we? Correct. So if you want to go ahead and bother them about the. The five page layouts and generally what content needs to go on each of them, that would be fantastic. And you can let them know that we'll like. If they want to give us like a wall of starter text, we can then finagle that into these layouts. Like, I'm perfectly fine with Taking a page layout on a website, tossing that into Claude with the wall of text and say Claude, merge these together. Do you know they don't have layouts for any of the pages? So we would need content for the. We are needing content. Will we use any of the content on their current home page? Oh, we can. Yeah, we. They have decent and they also sent us over recently, I want to say late last week a link to a competitor site that talks well about their like they have a lot of the same types of products that he says they talk well about these. So. So we need homepage about page product listing. We don't need content for. Because that's just going to be imported. Right? Correct. Category overview and blog again, how are we if they have blog posts? Yeah, so they have blog posts that they want us to import and send those over. Okay. Do. Do they have blog posts? I don't. I don't know. So it'd be a good question to ask them. They don't have any that can be pulled directly from their site. So at most that they would ever give us is a handful of like Word documents just to copy and paste up. Okay so blogs tiff any exists? We don't see any on the website. No, their primo website is barren. It's literally just a single page and then content for credentialing landing page. We. What you have for these pages and well. Okay cool. Okay cool. See what happens with that. Okay, so develop the block library again. This is right now on Samson. Is this going to be on Samsung or you're going to do it? We'll have you duplicate everything and basically just do like a color swap and if there's any updates and changes like if they want to change fonts and stuff like that, let you run through the theme JSON file and make some updates to. Okay. From an existing project. This one was just odd. And I basically when I looked at the default structure, I was like, this one because it's the dual site. I was like, let me see if I can take the task list from the contract, get it imported in versus delete everything and have to manually create the. The right structure. Chris will finish out importing the case studies. Once we get those this week, then we'll move it to them for QA sometime next week. They'll then get us their content. Well, so we'll have a pause in here while they import content and then we'll finalize. They'll finalize the site after the content and then we take it live, right? Yes. Okay. Yes. Okay. And then for Primo, you're going to finish up all of the content or all of the building blocks today, tomorrow before you leave. I've requested content from them any Content we get before next week will import and give to them for qa. If I create. If I create the page layouts on Primo and then they write content to those page layouts or four or five pages. Dawn, are you good to take their content and just move it into those page layouts? That is nothing that you have to worry about. It's a 7, 500 project that he already paid half of his stuff up front. And so that's just. I said okay. I just. Oh, okay. Yeah. And so that's all handled. So you'll see all that stuff in QuickBooks as you go through things. He paid immediately, which never happens with people full. I'm gonna have Andrew do a little bit of stuff on that, but it's only going to be a handful of hours. He knows where his stopping points are for all of that. It'll be done in about two or three weeks. It's for a company called Pool Defense. So. Okay. Does this need to live in Asana, for instance, for Andrew? Track tasks too? No. He has one thing he's gonna do and that's all he's gonna do. It's gonna take him a day and that's it. So when does he need to have that completed by? At some point in the next couple of weeks. Okay. It's. He's gonna help a dude create a Shopify account. Basically. That's the. The long story short of it. Okay. Testing out a new AI building into a WordPress site to test out to see if. See if I can make something happen, see if it'll work, see if it won't. I have no idea. So this guy is basically funding my trial run of can we go from an AI building a sample site into four or five WordPress blocks? So the sample sites that he sent over were very basic of what he liked. And so I was like, you know, we'll see what happens, see if it can work. So. Sounds good. Okay. So yeah. It just comes up, like, sometimes, like gray with an E. Doesn't show show as a error on my end all the time, but. Interesting. Okay. I don't know what to do with Aries. Are we waiting for them to sign stuff before we do anything intense? I called Bobby on Friday. They all went out of town last week and their CFO was on PT CEO. So apparently everybody is back today or yesterday. And so Bobby and the CFO and the CEO need to talk, sign it and pay the thing. So that should be happening in the next few days, but last week was apparently a cluster with them having an event in Minnesota. Got it. Last week, he just commented on the blog redesign and said pulling some examples for inspiration. Think of this more as a newspaper style, not a blog. And then for the navigation bar, he said our traffic is close to 90% mobile. This would be nice to do, but let's tell till later or when we see our traffic ship. Mobile experiences where the money is. I, when I, as soon as I put those up, Andrew mentioned to me that I should have listened to the intro call they did because they're very wishy washy. Yeah, Andrew pulled me into that call. Yeah, they're very like, they have, they have a. I'm more used to people being very reactive and being like, oh, here's an idea. Like let's run with it. They're. They like to sit with stuff for a second. So I'm gonna hold off on that until. I'm gonna hold off on any updates to that until I hear from them what they want to do with it and where their reasoning is coming from. And so yeah, I mean, he just said mobile experience. I don't know. Which is fine. They probably. They're actually one of the few of our clients that actually have more legit. Well, they're running like Facebook ads and stuff. Right. So yeah, that's fine. So they're actually probably getting more mobile traffic where the more media, the more I feel like there's a shocking number of the clients we've had in the past that actually have more desktop traffic than mobile traffic. See, like Evangel and stuff like that. Right. Yeah. I still think about them way too often. I don't know them actually. They probably have little blips of like on their Google Analytics of like Snellville, Georgia hit the homepage like every other week. I don't think about them. I don't think about them like a lot. And for. But like randomly I'll just be like, my brain will be like, you should go check out their homepage. I have. And then I go check out their homepage and it's the same. And then I go closing. It's done. It's like a 30 second thought. Nothing more, nothing less. But no idea why they cross my brain as much as they do. Yeah, well, I wonder, you know, they'll figure their stuff out. The joy. Okay, cool. Well, I think I have what I need. I'm just gonna keep pushing stuff along this week and I'll message. I'm gonna just keep commenting in Asana or in Slack if I need anything more urgent.
